A recent Google job posting for YouTube is hinting at an upcoming video service for game consoles.

The job description lists the following responsibilities:

  • Build the next generation game-console-based TV experience with You Tube video content.
  • Deliver a compelling lean back experience with monetization and e-commerce offerings (ie, pay-per-stream, ads).
  • Integrate and optimize with distribution channels and devices including all major game platforms.
  • Develop leading edge User Interfaces and delight users with innovative media rich solutions.

From the looks of things, this seems like it could be something similar to console streaming for Netflix, or the more recently launched Hulu Plus, although no details about the actual product being developed have been given.? Also, the job description references next generation consoles, but mentions the current generation of consoles under the job requirements, leaving the actual platforms for such an application still somewhat of a mystery.

Would you personally use this application over viewing YouTube on your computer or wireless device?
