Paper Jamz Pro Mic

The Paper Jamz Pro Mic series by Wowwee ($39.99 list) is essentially a karaoke machine for kids made out of paper. Well, not your average paper. It's Active Graphics Technology circuit-embedded paper, which allows you to play like a pro by simply touching the paper surface.

The Pro Mic measures a compact 6 by 5 by 1 inches (HWD) and weighs 8.8 ounces. It comes in three different styles, and requires four AA batteries. It works with both PCs and Macs, and comes with two songs bundled in. The Pro Mic features several voices effects. The Perfect Pitch effect corrects your pitch so you're automatically in tune, while Chorus multiplies your voice. Auto Vibrato adds dramatic effect to your voice, and Melody Match tunes your voice so you always sing in perfect pitch. Finally, there's Auto Harmony, which makes you sound like part of a perfectly harmonized duo.

To download new songs into the device, users (or their parents) need to install the Paper Jamz Pro desktop app onto their PC or Mac. Then connect your Pro Mic to your PC via the included USB cable, and drag and drop song files into the desktop app, which will tell you if the song will work on your Paper Jamz device. The Pro Mic supports MP3 and M4A file formats. Alternatively, you can purchase songs via the The Pro Series Setlist, which has certified-compatible tunes.
